In Memory of Betty Webster

Betty Webster was an enthusiastic supporter of the Adam Webster Memorial Fund of O’Neill Sea Odyssey (OSO), named for her late grandson. Tom and Judy Webster, Betty’s son and daughter-in-law, and parents of Adam, have been raising funds since 1999 for the fund to provide the free OSO educational experience on board the Team O’Neill Catamaran sailing Monterey Bay for youth with special needs. Betty would travel to California to attend the annual dinner for the Adam Webster Memorial Fund, often checking in and greeting guests. She always provided a gift for the dinner’s auction, including quilts she had lovingly knitted. She was an inspiration to everyone she met, enriching lives along the way.

Gifts to the fund in Betty’s memory can be made either:
• Through our secure credit card donation site at: clickandpledge.com. Betty Webster memorial donations are the second option listed, or
• By mailing a check to “Adam Webster Memorial Fund” (write “In memory of Betty Webster” in the memo line) to: O’Neill Sea Odyssey, 2222 East Cliff Drive, Suite 222, Santa Cruz, CA 95062.

“Birdies for Charity” is a fundraiser for O’Neill Sea Odyssey’s free, ocean-going youth science program, supported by the AT&T Pebble Beach golf tournament. Individuals can pledge funds to O’Neill Sea Odyssey (OSO) and guess the number of birdies* to be made by PGA Tour players during the 2009 tournament February 12-15, 2009.

While the funds will benefit OSO, whoever guesses the correct number of birdies will win a pair of airline tickets of up to $500 each. Others will win great prizes awarded based on random drawings. The Monterey Peninsula Foundation will also provide OSO with a 10% bonus to OSO on all donations made. In order to pledge, go to https://birdies.attpbgolf.com, then click on “Pledge you favorite charity”, then enter O’Neill Sea Odyssey.
