transportation SCHOLARSHIPS

Eligible schools are those that meet the 50% or greater “Socioeconomically Disadvantaged” subgroup on the California School Dashboard. While we aim to support all eligible schools, grant funding for transportation varies annually and is not always guaranteed. 

RECIPIENT GUIDELINES

1. Apply: Request a transportation scholarship in your trip request form. Find out more about the trip request process.

2. Book Your Transportation ASAP!

  • Schedule both classes on the same day (morning and afternoon).
  • Use your district school buses when possible. Know your district’s policies and transportation request process. Other affordable options are Michael’s Transportation and First Student (ask for the 10% OSO non-profit discount).
  • When classes used district buses last year, we covered up to 87% of their transportation costs! 

3. Reimbursement Process: 

  • Buses must be billed/invoiced to your school, district or Parent/Teacher Organization. Please do not bill OSO directly. 
  • After your field trip, send your final Invoices to program@oneillseaodyssey.org or upload the invoices into your dedicated Google Drive folder.
  • Please provide clear payment instructions. Include the organization that should be reimbursed and a mailing address. 
  • Scholarship awards are processed within 2 weeks of a completed reimbursement request.

    • Fall Field Trips: December 20, 2024
    • Spring Field Trips: June 20, 2025
