OSO Students joyfully raising the sail
Support YOUR Ocean Classroom

Dear *{{Informal Name}}*,

WHY? When met with an enthusiastic "let's find out!" - is a simple question that can spark a lifetime of discovery. This spirit of discovery is embodied in the O'Neill Sea Odyssey (OSO) experience. Our team celebrates a child's desire to understand the world and where they fit into it. By fostering a sense of wonder and the opportunity to experience science as a tool for discovery, OSO students transform into budding researchers, sailors, and environmental stewards. Our students fill me with hope for the future.

The O'Neill Sea Odyssey experience transforms the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary into a living classroom. OSO provides multi-sensory STEM education, exploring the remarkable biodiversity of our region and how our choices impact the ocean's health. Our bilingual curriculum, science educators, and support for student service projects empower young learners to be informed environmental advocates in their communities. Students develop a greater awareness of the land, sea, and science, empowering them with a sense of connection and civic responsibility.

Many children in our region have never spent time at the ocean or on our beaches. Access makes it possible for students to make developmentally critical observations. With your generous support, we can ensure children from underrepresented communities can participate in experiential ocean and science education. Students are able to see how they connect to the sea and why it matters. When you support this immersive learning experience, you invest in our future and nurture the spark of discovery.

Please consider making a meaningful tax-deductible gift to support healthier communities, our environment, and a child's sense of wonder through our free, science-focused programs for 4th through 6th-grade students.

$1,500 supports a class of special needs students with an ocean experience through our Adam Webster program.

$500 provides a transportation scholarship for an OSO class in need.

$150 offers one student access to comprehensive ocean curriculum.

$75 provides bilingual classroom curriculum for one teacher

          The Ocean Is Calling

The O'Neill Sea Odyssey experience instills an understanding that activities for a healthy ocean start at home.  Why? Because the environment needs all of us.  You can support a new generation to create a more climate resilient world.  Will you answer the call?

Your Ocean Advocate,

Tracey Weiss, Executive Director
